Errors in browsing ASP.NET pages

I've get a problem in browsing .aspx pages locally.

I'm using Windows 2000 Advanced Server with IIS enabled
and .NET framework SDK installed, as well as Visual
Studio.NET.
But when I browse .aspx pages locally, I.E. shows "Server
Application Unavailable" message. In the Event log, I find
error event of ASP.NET 1.0.3705.0 with the description :

aspnet_wp.exe could not be launched because the username
and/or password supplied in the processModel section of
the config file are invalid.

Please help to tackle this problem!!

Thanks, Vincent

OK. find the machine.config file, run through it until you find the user
details, and change them to a valid account

(personally, on my dev machine, I run this under an admin account -
DON'T do this on a deployed machine open to the net. I have a well
configured firewall so I don't need to worry about it, but you might)

This is a classic asp newsgroup. While you may be lucky enough to find a
dotnet-savvy person here who can answer your question, you can eliminate the
luck factor by posting your question to an appropriate group. I suggest
microsoft.publi c.dotnet.framew ork.aspnet.

I need a tool to browse text files with a size of 10-20 Mb. These files have a fixed record length of 800 bytes (CR/LF), and containt records used to create printed pages by an external company. Each line (record) contains an 2-character identifier, like 'A0' or 'C1'. The identifier identifies the record format for the line, thereby...

OK, I'm going to be brave. There is a bug in VS.Net 1.1 that causes random compiler errors. I have raised this issue in posts at least three time in the past couple of months without attracting much interest. But it's driving me nuts. Here's what happens. I'm working on a multi project VB app. happily writing nice inoffensive code - go to...

I thought I would pass this on, as I have oft' seen this problem reported, with no solution. The problem is that in a solution containing several projects, the compiler will sometimes report a selection of errors that are quite false. For example, on one build the error "... cannot handle event because they do not have the same signature"...

Hi, We are using VS.Net 2003 and coding in VB.net. The solution has 38 projects; most of the projects in the solution reference other projects (without any circular references) and all the references were added to using the Projects tab on the Add Reference dialog and not by browsing to the DLL for the project. When we build or run the...

I am constantly getting reports in my task list like these: * 'someObjectName" is not a member of 'someOtherObjectName' * Handles clause requires a WithEvents variable. * Name 'someName' is not declared These errors are totally erroneous. Hello, I'd like to be able to write an application that runs on a Windows XP machine and can capture and handle javascript errors from any web site that a user might encounter while using IE on that box. It doesn't matter what language the application is written in. I don't know if this is a Javascript question or a Windows component...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
