Can output as HTML but not as XLS

Hi all!

I haven't being doing that much in ASP, but I have to create this:
It has to read out data from some DB to excel.

The following (corrected) code works if just it outputs as html, once
the Response.Conten tType is excel. then it offers to open/save the
file, and stops - file not found - what do I do wrong?

'Change HTML header to specify Excel's MIME content type.
'Response.Buffe r = TRUE
' Response.Conten tType = "applicatio n/vnd.ms-excel"
<BODY bgcolor="#FFFFF F">
<form name="ExcelForm ">
<TD colspan=3>Creat ed: <%=cstr(now)% ></TD>

<TABLE border="1">
<tr><td><b>Code </b></td><td><b>Descr iption 1</b></td><td><b>Descr iption
2</b></td><td><b>Qty</b></td><td><b>Price </b></td><td><b>Total </b></td></tr>

dim rsTree
set rsTree = server.createob ject("adodb.rec ordset")
rsTree.activeco nnection = DSN_Oracle

dim txt
txt = "select blah!"
rsTree.Open(txt )

do while not rsTree.eof
for J=1 to cint(field_valu e(2,rsTree))
taso = taso & "&nbsp;&nbsp;&n bsp;&nbsp;&nbsp ;&nbsp;"

'************** *******
response.write( "<tr><td>" + taso + field_value(0,r sTree) +
"</td><td>" + _
field_value(1,r sTree) + "</td><td>" + field_value(6,r sTree) +
"</td><td>" + field_value(5,r sTree) + "</td><td>a</td><td>b</td></tr>")
response.write( chr(10))

Is there a limit on the size of the file Python will read then output. I am reading a file of 433 lines and when I output the same file it only will output 421 lines. The last line is cut off also. I need to apply the HTML formatting tags and the French accented characters in a XML document. The XML is generated from a database that has HTML tags and French accented characters in the records. I have specified <xsl:output method="html"/> and encoding="iso-8859-1". When I apply the xsl:value-of and set the disable-output-escaping to "yes", the HTML formatting tags are displayed correctly, but the French accented characters are...

What is the proper doctype syntax for XHTML transitional??? Strict? How come XSLT doesn't preserve XHTML when it is compiled (Xalan)? Meaning, <br /> tags become <br> <input /> tags become <input> etc. It seems I am dazed and confused? Any hints or clear online resources appreciated. John

Hi, I got <xsl:output method="html" encoding="iso-8859-1" doctype-public="-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" doctype-system=" http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"/> in my XSLT file. This should remove all XML related code and replace with HTML valid code, but with my commandline XSLT transformer(http://xmlsoft.org/XSLT/) it outputs a xmlns on elements I'v used <xsl:copy-of select="/some/node"> to produce. Is this how it should work, or is this...

I'm writing a tiny php app that will log into our bank of america account and retrieve a file containing a list of checks that cleared the previous day. The problem I'm running into is when I perform actions with php/CURL the output is different than when I use IE and I'm completely stumped as to why. The final output should list files available for retrieval but the CURL output displays an error/empty file message. Here is the curl...

I have written an XSLT transformation on an ASP.NET page. The resulting HTML is primarily a table of links. I have found that when the resulting HTML is less than or equal to 16040 bytes, the output display is normal, but when the resulting HTML exceeds 16040 bytes, the output does not display correctly. When I look at View Source, I see that the final </html> tag gets moved to another spot in the output, byte by byte as I increase the...

I created a base page class which sets a response filter and the filter injects additional html into the response output stream. The filter works fine and everything works as expected except for the following quirk: When I navigate my browser to another url (a link in the page, a browser favorite...it doesn't mater) and then use the browsers (IE 6) Back or Forward buttons to go back to my filtered page the additional html I had added...

I'm adding this as it to me a while to figure out all the pieces to be able to do this without using Microsoft.Office.Interop which caused me problems on the web-server. Streaming is the easy part, but I couldn't initially work out how to manipulate the page setup to change page margins and orientation, that's why I was looking at Microsoft.Office.Interop. But with Microsoft.Office.Interop I couldn't fiure out how to stream HTML...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
