The external sylesheet gives: a { font-family: "Comic Sans MS", Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: bold; color: #004080; padding-left: 10px;

Hello, I need to maintain a database with links to different websites. What I would like to do is write an application that periodically checks on dead links. I remember from my VB6 days that I have used the XMLHTTP object to post to .asp pages from within a windows app and you could then check the response code.

Since SQL Server is everywhere, is Access dying a slow death? Is Access going the way of the FoxPro, destined to be the last of the desktop databases?

I just acquired a new customer who had an existing ASP classic Web site. When I took over, I transferred all content to ASPX pages that have different page names than the prior Web site had. I kept the original domain name. Of course, google and other search engines indexed the old site. So, while all links from search results will come to my new ASPX site, the links will be dead because of the changed page names (and I'm not about to go...

VS 2005 I have: ClickOnce deployment User's that hate and or don't want to use an IE Client (don't blame them) I don't see how ASPX web pages are going to survive? With .NET 2.0 and clickonce deployment my app is 427KB (even with modem dialup speed it doesn't take long to download) -- the user gets a very friendly secure WindowsForm app (most of them don't even notice they're not under IE anymore) that performs considerably faster than...

Hello all, I'm making a calendar section in a website. Each month is its own page and navigated by Previous / Next links. I have it working now with standard hyperlinks, but I want to learn how to use Link Rel and Link Rev commands to do the navigation. At the W3C website it shows how to use the Link Rel and Link Rev in the <head> section:

Is it just me.. or are all the gmane links on daily-python dead? All the c.l.py.announce entries point to gmane, and none of them seem to be working. This is the error i get on gmane: Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to hugh:8010 in /home/httpd/gmane/php/lib.php on line 18 Couldn't contact hugh:8010 The web interface is down for maintenance. How about using google groups or the python.org archives instead of gmane?

Does anyone have a pythonic way to check if a process is dead, given the pid? This is the function I'm using is quite OS dependent. A good candidate might be "try: kill(pid)", since it throws an exception if the pid is dead, but that sends a signal which might interfere with the process. Thanks. --Buck

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
