debugging client-side on aspx pages

I installed the Microsoft Script Debugger 1.0.7295 and am trying to
debug client side javascript. I m not able to set break points on the
page; that option is disabled no matter how I open up the script
I have tried opening the page in the following ways:
1) with the "debugger;" in the client-side java script
2) through IE menu
3) planting a javascript error in the client-side code, so the process
must stop and ask "Do you want to debug...?"

Thanks, Elizabeth

OK, I got it to work.....I rebooted the machine, I can't believe I
didn't think of that first....and it works very nicely within the .NET
environment.... if I start my project from within the .NET IDE I can now
debug client side script within that IDE using the debug keys I am
familiar with!

Use the MS Script Editor included free with MS Office 2002 and above, for debugging Internet Explorer (IE). This subject is of great interest to many JS developers, as there is no obvious, low cost way to do sophisticated debugging in IE6 other than to use the debugger described below, which is horribly documented otherwise. I feel debugging is an important aspect of projecting the useability of the language and needs to be made more...

Hi everybody, My problem seems a bit clichè but I could not work around. Well I read lots of MSDN papers and discussions, but my problem is a bit different from them. When I tried to run the project in debug mode (by hitting F5) it gives an error message "Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web server.

Greetings, I am debugging client-server single threaded code and would like to hear some suggestions regarding being able to make debugger to detect a certain condition and from that point to allow step by step debugging. The reason for that is because I need to see what is arriving at a certain packet, not necessary the first one. In fact, I was thinking to start server in debugging mode to wait for a trap, where I'll put a bookmark...

I have a very odd problem which I hope someone can help me with. I have written a very simple test program using remoting as an excercise in using a custom sink - just a simple server with a single method called GetReply() and a simple client. After configuring the remoting the code in the client looks like this: try { responseTextBox.Text = server.GetReply(); }

This is on a Workgroup : I created same user/pwd with admin rights for client & Server. I compiled a game client and it crashed (segmentation fault) resulting in a core file being generated. I'm trying to find out exactly what caused it to crash. Any ideas how I can do this with gdb? In the Makefile can I just add a "-g" flag to have the binary produced with debugging symbols? The source is written in ANSI C. This is what I have now: "CC = gcc" The client binary is 433680 and the core file produced when it crashed

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
