Java for game consoles?

Well I'm aware to python and as jim has released the jython which is python for java...So all the performance issues are removed and some extra power has been aded already by java 3D game engines!

I'm thinking to use jmonkey game engine which is targeting advanced 3D game development with a SDK too and code editing feature +.

Well it's java which has been on top already but for a videogame to be successful its completely necessary that it can be played by all people and targeting only android and PC users is not target of the game.

It's target is to port the game to game consoles like PSvita, PS3, XBOX360, Iphone, Windows phone, Ipad.

I've not found any documentation specially for jmonkey but I've used apress book for jython and very happy because it provides source code!

But if you can, tell me what is multi-platform deployment and how can I use jmonkey games on game devices i will be very helpful.

If you want you can suggest me other game engines as well but open source as open source programs are always made with heart!

I want that the game can be completed as a commercial game!

Please give more and more and explained helpful answers! I'm going to start the book of jython and please suggest me also about jmonkey and if able give me link to its documentation in any PC formats! and give me some more tips about game development! please comment about how is java for game consoles! Please try to find easiest and most best way because i'm only 14 and will not be able to manage some critical stuff for hardware too much! Give any type of solution for software! If you're not able to find easy way then its ok but please help out how i can create a great game ! Thank you!

Java is multi-platform.

It has it's own run time environment that can be used on many different operating systems/platforms.

However, when it comes to developing games for console systems, I recommend that you do research into the consoles that you want to target. Consoles tend to be very proprietary and thus constricting to what technologies you can use to develop with.

I know that you can use XNA to develop games for the XBox and Windows (Microsoft products...but I don't think it reaches to the phone). I'm not sure if the XBox will support Java applications because Microsoft may not support it. You can use Java to develop for a game for the Windows operating system though.

As for the other console systems, I would assume that they too would require you to use something proprietary to develop games for only their systems. I haven't looked into them though so I'm not certain about that.

Do your research on the platforms you want to target before you start writing code!
