How does request process in apache ?

Hi All,

I have apache installed on my linux machine. My web application is using different modules as per requirement. So currently my apache server supports mod_perl, mod_php and tomcat.

My questions is how does a request processing works when apache server has more than one module, how does it identify the module to process the request ?

thanks,
Amit.
