cgi-bin files not executed at localhost:8080 via web browser

Hi all,

This has been racking my brains for sometime. I am trying to view CGI scripts via a web browser using tomcat5.5 as the webapp server. In both cases I'm trying to implement the webapp on both Windows and Ubuntu.

Following the instructions below:

I have configured both my ubuntu and windows tomcat servers to handle cgi scripts (I have attached both web.xml files for review). On the windows tomcat server, the scripts are not displayed whereas on unix the scripts are displayed in raw form (i.e. not executed).

Looking at the catalina log file on Windows, I get the following message:

INFO: cgi-bin: Running finally block

Within both server files, the perl executable is referenced. I know that the windows perl exe works independently of tomcat, whereas I am not to sure with regards to unix.
