DFS,apache,2003 server, webdav problem, seems jammed together

HI,

I have an apache running on 2003 server for web requests, and it is also a domain controller. I have also setup DFS on this server and it seems the DFS is conifged smoothly. Howerver when i browse the DFS root, it keeps asking me password , even i used the administrator password and sure it is correct.

I have no clue why this happen and i read the apache log, seems there is some entry related about this:

123.8.23.70 - - [10/Mar/2008:09:32:55 +0800] "PROPFIND /dcbackup HTTP/1.1" 405 1042

, which, the dcbackup is the root of the DFS. i have done a bit of research of "PROPFIND" and found that it is about webdav request.

Actually i don't understand why is it about Webdav issue. I just want apache to server web requests, and the DFS works in our local network.

Please help , i have searched quite a long time on the internet still no clue how to solve this. And now i have to ask question, many many thanks.

Hi,

sounds like a, hm, very "interesting" problem. After switching off the Apache, are you still asked for a password when browsing the DFS ? Did you try to run the Apache on a different port than the default port 80?

Regards,

Bernd
