mod_rewrite cry for help.

Hi, I need a specific redirect out of mod_rewrite, and I've never done regex a day in my life. Understandably, this makes things difficult. Been trying for hours, now I give up trying to slave it out myself.

What I need is the following: Any and all requests should be redirected to the GET of a PHP file that will handle some redirection. I know the PHP file is fine, now I need to get the RewriteRule working. Here's what I have so far:

RewriteRule ^(.*)$ redirect.php?page=$1

Remember, all requests should be mapped over to the GET of redirect.php. That means example.com/whee/abc.html should map to example.com/redirect.php?page=whee/abc.html. If it maps to redirect.php?page=/whee/abc.html, WITH the slash before "whee", that also works.

Currently, this code maps any request, regardless of what the request is, to redirect.php?page=redirect.php. What can be done? Thanks in advance.
