apache graceful restart doesn'tt reflect conguration changes quickly

machismo350
In order to communicate on new certificates,i am doing an apache restart (using apachectl -k graceful) ,which should take the new .crt & .key for communication but this takes more time and any request coming for the corresponding host on which the configuration were done fails,is there any other way i can have apache take up the config changes quickly and respond to requests.

How long is the graceful restart taking? How often are you needing to change your certificate?

Its taking more than a minute to communicate on the new certificates. The condition to restart is not constant,it may happen whenever a request for communication on new certificates comes to it.Is there anyway i can communicate backon the new CA quickly.PLz help

Check your Apache error logs to see if there are any problems you should be aware of. You may be better off by doing a standard restart.
