254 Contributor
I have the apache files in my directory:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. /home/Nick/apache_1.3.33
  2.
I have files :
Install
README
apache
apache.exe
base64
crypt
htpasswd
httpd
htppd.tmpl

I use cygwin. I try to start the apache server by typing:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. $ ./httpd start
  2.
But it give me this:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Display protocol statistics and current TCP/IP network connections.
  2.
  3. NETSTAT [-a] [-e] [-n] [-o] [-s] [-p proto] [-r] [interval]
  4.
  5. -a    bla bla bla
  6. -e    bla bla bla
  7. -n    bla bla bla
  8. .......
  9. .......
  10. .......
  11. Starting Apache Web Server: ./apache: ./apache: cannot execute binary file
  12.
Why i can't start apache?
What's wrong with binary file?

Regards,
Nick.

i dont think the problem i having now is anything to do with netstat -a, right?
what for want to know my active connection?
Are you guys helping me here?
Hi there,

The question is, do you need help in the first place? The reason why i asked you to execute <netstat -a> is to make sure your port <80> is not being used by any other application. Whatelse do you think i can do by seeing you port status?

Hi there,

Can you once again execute the same command out of <cygwin> shell? Please post your output. Take care.

I couldn't think of a good solution, and it's hard to Google for... I write python command-line programs under Win2k, and I use the bash shell from Cygwin. I cannot use Cygwin's python package because of a binary module which has to be compiled with Visual C 6. My scripts start with a '#!/usr/bin/env python' shebang, as God intended. Now, I assume I can make cmd.exe run foo.py by asociating *.py with the python interpreter.

If anyone is interested in using db2uext2 with Cygwin gcc compiler on Windows, I've modified the IBM provided sample with the attached file. There are two main modifications. The mkdir command is the POSIX compliant version as opposed to the MicroSoft C compiler. The second parameter to mkdir is the file mode. In this case, I've made the directories created to be read/write/execute(list) for all users.

Hello, I've recently installed apache on a new computer, and cannot figure out why my site will not process any includes. (it was working on my old one) There are no errors on the page such as "include not found", rather much of the page is blank where the included menus, etc would be, and the CSS is not attached. thanks so much!!! My httpd.conf looks like this:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
