how to evaluate sorting algorithms

hi i am writing a program in C++ to evaluate some sorting algorithms and i need to measure the hoe much memory the algorithms take to perform the sorting but i don't know if C++ have any tools or codes do this task.

No Linux is an operating system, it is perfectly feasible to compile C++ programs on Linux.

C++ has no built in mechanisms for taking the measurements you want but you could try a profiler.

I just meant ,if you are developing your C++ program on Linux platform then you can use

$ time a.out // a.out executable program

to see the execution speed of your program :)
