Cant reference the control in a subform

P: 2
I have a sub-form (continuous mode) with a button on any given row, which invokes a pop-up form. That pop-up uses a query to grab an ID field value from the row in the sub-form. I am using the expression builder as criteria (Because I don't have the time to mess with an ADO or DAO solution to this seemingly simple problem..)
I have tried a variety of expressions using bang and dot between Forms and Controls to no avail.
Is there a solution to this or must I relegate the pop-up form to prompting the user (Prompting has/does work by the way)

Referring to Items on a Sub-Form should tell you all you need to know.

Sorry, I tried that link before I posted my question... None of it worked ..which was why I posted to begin with. However , in hindsight I failed to mention that I am using a form in "continuous mode" and I was expecting the reference to automatically discern which record out of the set should be referenced. Its no big deal. I can resolve it with an ADO solution.
