Extra record being added to table through subform

P: 1
I have a database where I'm using a form and subform to enter data. At the top of the form I have Date and Processor, and then underneath that I have the subform embedded, with a range of columns. The idea is that the Date and Processor do not change, so you enter the other data in the subform and then it all gets loaded into a table when finished and avoids having to enter the Date and Processor for every record in the form. The problem is that when I click the button in my form to send the data to my table, it adds an extra record in the table with just the Date and Processor and all the other fields (i.e. in the subform) are blank, and then adds all the data I've added in the subform underneath that record.

accesscat,

Welcome to Bytes!

Can you provide a little more information about your problem. It might also help to provide more information about your tables, their relationships and how the forms are related.

Thanks!

Access forms will save when you move from one record to another so it's not usually necessary to have a CommandButton to do a save specifically.

You need to share with us some more details, as TwinnyFo says. What does your button do? What sequence of actions (exactly) does the operator take to produce the results you've described?
