Can't add a new field to my access database table?

I have 4 linked tables between 2 MS databases(2010). I recently added a new field to one of my linked tables(in the data design view by right clicking and insert rows)with no problems. I backed out of my database and needed to add another field to that same table, but this time it won't allow me to insert rows or even type into the extra fields? I still can add new fields to my other 3 linked tables with no problem. How come this table is blocked from allowing me to insert anything? I am doing this on the main database with the original created tables...

I fixed the problem by rebooting my computer. So something must of been hooked up in the system.
