how to apply existing report format to query result

Is there a menu related way of doing this in access 2010? Can't find..

Your question is very vague, but if you are referring to how the data is positioned on the screen, then queries cannot be formatted like a report. If you have used the Format() function within a textbox on a report, then you can use the Format() function in a very similar fashion in a query field. Further help would require more information about what you are trying to do.
