I read an old thread that ask for crosstab query into Form, new idea just popup

215 128KB
I have an crosstab query with date as column, and now want to show it as datasheet form, it'll be hell with a lot of code vba to do this (with rowsource = "SQL string" and requery)
and a new idea just pop up in my head.
instead of depend of crosstab update new date (new column).
just create manually 31 column for 31 days in month (31 is maximum day in a month)
and let give it the formula like this in column "day 1"
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. sum(iif(day(ABC.datereceipt)=1, ABC.volume, 0))
"day 2"
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. sum(iif(day(ABC.datereceipt)=2, ABC.volume, 0))
and so on till day 31.
then we nolonger need crosstab query update new column for us lol

my question is, do you think doing this will be effective ?
I gonna made datasheet with this idea.

In short, Yes.

I cannot say how well you'll manage the idea but I know it can be done, and has been done before. Much depends on what you're doing with the data but certainly arranging by day in month can work.

okay, I'll use this idea for a lot of form, since report preview in DSform need to classify by day/month/year
