Has anyone connected iPad VPN to MS Access on Windows 7 Server

I want to connect smart devices like iPad, iPhone to a MS Access on a Windows 7 Server. Has anyone done this already? And what exiting tools have you used to accomplish this?

I spent about 5 minutes doing this and wasn't particularly impressed with the results. I can't remember the RDP client that was used as I didn't setup the iPad. I know it was free and maybe with a paid version things would be better, but I'm doubtful.

The biggest and most glaring problem was the iPad doesn't use a Mouse and the translation between the touchscreen and on the iPad and the Mouse Pointer on a Terminal Server didn't work very well. It took a lot of effort to move the pointer around. Double-clicking was difficult as well. Not impossible, but difficult and frustrating. Right-clicking was impossible. This problem isn't limited to an iPad as a Windows 8 tablet was nearly as frustrating. I wouldn't even consider this on a phone as this problem would be even worse and most likely too much to maintain sanity on such a small screen.

The lesson I learned is that a native app or website really needs to be built for something like this if you ever want your users to actually use it when they are mobile.
