form will only open in design view, and defaults back to design when form view

When I try to open the form in form view, it defaults back to design view. I do not get the blank form in form view as many others. I have checked on the common "allow additions",etc problems, it still will not open

Check the Property on the Format tab "Allow Form View". You may have accidentally set it to No.
