finding specific values from a table

Sir, I have a table containing number of 19 persons and I want first 05 positions of those persons starting from highest to lowest. However, if two persons get equal number, then it might be like this : (For example)
1. 50
2. 49
3. 40
4. 38
5. 38
I shall be grateful if I am provided help on this. I shall create the table in MS Access 2003 with VB as front end (i.e. forms of MS Access). Regards.

This is a core skill for using a database. How much experience do you have?

The basic method is:
Create a simple select query

If this is your first database:
Database Normalization and Table Structures

Also please check your Bytes.com inbox... I've sent you a copy of my basic tools and references.

Finally, Access 2003 is "end of life" for support via Microsoft and it is only a matter of time before they pull the plug on the Acc2003 file format as they have just done with Acc97 with Acc2013. You should consider moving to at least Office/Access-2010
