How do I SUM an Average calculated value

Access 2010. Is there a way to SUM an AVERAGE calculated value with another field. They will sum individually but not together. In my report, Im using: =Avg([NetWtAVG]) to get the correct average for this field named "AvgWT". I have another field of =SUM([NetWt]) named "NtWt". I have spent days trying to add these two controls together without any luck.
I keep getting erronious results. I've tried, among others:
=[AvgWt]+[NtWt]
=Avg([NetWtAVG]+SUM([NetWt])
=SUM([AvgWt]+[NtWt])
I've also placed the control in various group headers and group footers.
Help please.

Your question doesn't make very clear what you have in the record source; what controls you have in the detail section and what controls you're trying to work with in your header or footer sections. Strangely, Header and Footer sections have similar capabilities even though, logically, you'd expect the information only to be available after the data is processed. IE. In the Footer section.

It would be helpful if you made it clear which calculations are being made where in the process.

I'll try to clarify. I have the following fields in a table, [NetWt], [NetWtAVG], [Edibles], [Rejects], where data is entered.
* On every 4th record I must average the results of [NetWtAVG], [Edibles], & [Rejects] on a report. I am currently trying to use =AVG to get the average results of these 3 fields in a report. I get the average of these 3 records fine.
* I must then get the average results of [NetWtAVg]only and add it to the non averaged field of [NetWt].
ie. =AVG([NetWtAVG]+[NetWt])
I've tried using the name of the field, control in different footer, headers etc. No luck, just get erroneous info.
I'm a novice at Access, any help would be appreciated

I'd be happy to help, but you must express your situation more clearly if I'm to do so.

Please reread my last post and respond directly to the questions posed. Repeated generalities about your situation leave me with no firm ideas to work with.

Give us an example set of data.
Use the [CODE/] button to insert a set of {code} tags then place your formatted table between those tags.

A set of raw data (just a few rows) please use as close to actual data as you can

A set showing what you want to occur

A set showing what you are actually getting.

This would go a long way towards helping us to help you.

thnx
