Typing Entry in Access Combo Box

Hi, I have used Access Combo boxes for years. Recently when I type in the combo box and a value loads Access is not overwriting the value if I keep typing. I am using both Access 2010 and 2013.

Example: one of the value on the list is "I don't know" the next value is "Interest". When I type "I" the "I don't know" value loads. When I go to type the "nt" to pull up "Interest" the entry becomes "Int don't know".

I thought this was because of the space but I am seeing it happen with longer words. Once the value loads the typing no longer overwrites.

Have you run into this? Is there a setting or way to fix it?
Thank you for your insights.

Check the AutoExpand property of the combo and make sure it is set to Yes.

I had initially thought of whether or not you were in Insert or Overtype mode on the keyboard but in testing it out it makes no difference to the autoexpand of a combo.
