Hi guys...I need a bit of Help

I need to create a simple customer data base. I then need this data base to be easy to search for people by their last and first names. I would like to be able to be able to log in every time individuals come in.

So say I have Katie Smith put on my system with all her details. When she comes in ina week I want to be able to find her and log in that she came over on that particular date and time

Any advise on a software or can I do this in access???

I'm sure that there is some software already built that can do what you are wanting, but I don't know of any examples. This can also be done fairly easily in Access. However, we can't provide the whole solution for you. I would suggest that you start working on it and then (in a new thread) post questions about specific problems that you are having and then we can help. Here is a link to get you started with proper table design: Database Normalization and Table Design

Also, If all you need it to track visits, you can use an MS-Excel spreadsheet and you will end up with less effort and with less technical know how.

If you still want to use Access, I would suggest checking out some of the Desktop Templates that Microsoft has provided, like the Desktop Customer Service, Desktop Call Tracker, or maybe the Desktop Issue Tracking. These are good starting points and implement the proper table design Seth is talking about.
