Right justify report heading of 3-column report

1,271 Expert 1GB
Is there a way to make a report heading print to the far right if you're making a multi-column report? Right now I have only the date/time/page in the heading. It's right-justified and it prints to the right edge of column 1. I want it over column 3.

Using MS Access 2007.

To clarify, the page headings appear over each column, 3 times across the page, and that is good. It is the Report Heading that I want to make act like it would if there were not multi-columns in the detail.

The report heading prints only one time, over column 1.

Thanks,

Jim

No, Jim, standard report with Page Header, footer and detail with text boxes for the record source. I was flabbergasted when I built the report thinking that it would never work, but it did. The right half of the Detail section is empty (it must be otherwise you get really weird results and the results won't fit the width of the page.

Only thing I can come up with is to use a parent/sub-report arrangement.

Jim,

I have the same arrangement you are talking about. My page header is the full width of the Page. But, my page is set up in columns. When it prints, I get columns and if I wanted to, I could arrange the page header however I wished.

Hope this helps!

twinnfo, are you saying you did that with a report/subreport setup?

I don't understand what you're saying. Are you saying you made your own columns with text boxes? Or you went to Page Setup/Columns and specified a number of columns?

What does " with text boxes for the record source" mean?

Does this pic help.

Just a basic report. Absolutely nothing special, fancy, complicated or ANYTHING complex. Comlumns are set in page setup (two, in this case).

I can adjust the column headers however I want them. Note how the page footer is also entire page width.

" with text boxes for the record source" just means that the text boxes are the only things in the detail, but they are based on the record source, no caluclations, no nothing.

A basic query is the record source.

Okay,I get it now. i just had to make the report width what it needed to be, 8". The column width is 2.2"; I was keeping the whole report width at 2.2". It worked fine for printing my 3 columns but it kept the header at only 2.2".

I was sort of out to lunch on that. Your image helped me see the light.

Thanks! Have a great weekend.
