Simple sort on text field sorting strangely

My form wouldn't sort by name so I wrote a simple query on the name field sorted in ascending (or descending) and it simply doesn't sort. this is the result of ascending

Why are you writing a query to sort a form?

Forms are sorted using the .OrderBy property or whatever is specified in the ORDER BY clause of the query used in the .RecordSource if there is no .OrderBy property set.
