nikolazl:
As Rabbit stated, backward compatibility is not guaranteed. You will be able to open some 2010-ACCDB files and not others:
Backward compatibility between Access 2010 and Access 2007
So in one version of a front-end I have, it is ACC2010 only as I've used the newer navigation form control; however, I do have a version that works in 2007 for one client that has 2007. The back-end is a 2010 file and this works for all of my clients because the back-end is only data tables and I haven't used any of the new stuff in this file and I have the IT handle user rights to the backend folder; thus, OS level encryption of the files. (in-fact, the backend was one of my last MDB files that I've finally move to 2010 as all of the ACC2003 users have finally migrated! YEA!)
Even with Word2010; if you open it in 2007 there are few things that will be changed:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/wo...010370115.aspxWord 2010 element: New numbering formats
Change when opened in Word 2007: New numbering formats are converted to Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, 4, ...).
Change when opened in Word 97-2003: New numbering formats are converted to Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, 4, ...).
Word 2010 element: New shapes and text boxes
Change when opened in Word 2007: Shapes and text boxes are converted to effects available in this format. Shapes and text boxes are converted to effects available in this format.
Change when opened in Word 97-2003: Text effects; Effects on text are permanently removed unless the effects are applied by using a custom style.
etc...
And even then... if you have Word2003 without the compatibility pack, you will not be able to open the files.
