Saving First Name field when it is retrieved from another table

P: 48
I have a database that has in the main table, FirstName, MiddleInitial, and LastName, among other fields.

In my form, the lastname is a combobox that pulls from a POC table. The Firstname and MI are set as
=[lastname]![column](1) etc.
After selecting the last name, the firstname and MI are populated correctly.

However, when I look at the table or any associated query, the firstname and MI are not saved.

Is there a way to save that information in the main form?

Thx
Jason

You need to bind the controls to the fields in the table and use VBA code to populate the value.

If you set the control source to that what you mentioned in your first post, then it will no longer save that data to the table because it no longer knows where to save it.
