Access 2010 has a nice feature called themes.
Normally I don't like these things; however, it helps with keeping a consistent colour scheme set... and it will also reset those nasty choices made by others :)
>>>CAUTION<<<
The following will change EVERY form and EVERY report.
Including Fonts.
BACK-UP! BACK-UP! BACK-UP! BACK-UP! BACK-UP! BACK-UP!
>>>CAUTION<<<
Now supposedly you can do this without a form open... I've not had much luck with that; however, open any form you have.... say, your problem child.
Switch to the LAYOUT view.
You should be able to see the form design ribbon option.
Go to the themes group and right click themes... pick one you like.
Because a picture is worth a thousand words... and words often need pictures here's a link...
Changing the Theme for Forms and Reports - Access 2010
Choosing one of these may very well set the selected field to a colour you like. I actually don't mind the Office Default as it is mostly blues... which is a colour I prefer.
>>>NOTE>>> I started with the default and then made my own theme as our company has a preferred font for reports etc... so I custom made the theme with that font and changed a few other settings. Saved this theme for later use... and then select the theme for my applications.
--- I may update this later with a text only link; however, now I have to go move 18 inches of snow that fell last night. :(
