Old Records Getting Replaced by New Records

1
I have a form to enter user information. The form consists of several records. Each record consists of several fields. The first field in each record is a unique ID field (a number), second field is a user name, etc. I add a new record by going to the very last record and then I click on the arrow button with star "New (blank) Record". Once I enter all the info I close the form and it is saved automatically. When I reopen the form everything looks fine. I keep adding new records into the database and everything looks fine. But it happened twice already that after I added several new records into the form (spent a quite amount of time) the new records replaced existing (old) records. Each record has a unique identifier automatically generated.

For example, I enter 20 new records with a unique identifier. They are still in the database as the latest records. Few days later I add new records in the database and close the form. Few days later I open the database and the records are gone from the end (as the latest) and they are somewhere in the the database 2 months earlier and they replaced old (existing) records with unique identifiers.

I am trying to find out why is this happening, but so far no success. I use this form for a year or so and it never happened before.

Any ideas?

You complain that your database is behaving in a strange way. That makes sense so far.

Then you ask us to help you determine why that is, without posting any information about the form you are using. We may be good, but I doubt anyone's that good. If we're to help in any way then you need to include details of what it is you're asking about.
