Northwind 2007 database

Hi, I'm just a beginner in MS Access.
I dowloaded a Northwind 2007 sample database, I had a problem with the category in the product details form I want it combo box, when look at product table, category the property sheet it says Display Control = combo box, row source type = value list, row source = all the list of categories.

Now my question is how can i change the text box to combo box without changing anything (if possible)to a product table?

Hi
You can change it to 'combo box' by selecting this Text box in design mode and then press 'right click' then go to 'Change to' and then select "combo box'
It will not disturb any existing data, whatsoever.

Go to Property sheet in design mode for 'Category'. Then go to 'Data' tab. Check 'Row Source' for same. If is empty, you will not see anything in combo box. Click on small button having three dots besides that, and a new screen will open (just like a query in design mode). Select the Category table here and select the fields you want to be shown in combo box. (you can select more than one columns). Then close it and come back to previous screen. Here you also have to set other properties like 'Bound column' etc.
I'll suggest Just explore and check each property properly you'll learn automatically, we can't explain all in a single thread. (hope you will agree to it)

Hi Narender i tried your idea but sorry to say it is not possible because there no table for categories, instead i explore every details in the property sheet and compare it with the property sheet in product table, category.
So in the form category, combo box, property sheet, row source type, i change the value into value list and from the product table, category, property sheet, row source i copy all the value there into my form category combo box property sheet and it is perfect it's done.

Thank you very much for your help, now my database is look perfect.
