Snake contents of a field across and down 3 columns in a sub-report

I would like to snake the contents of the field “FunctionName” across and down 3 columns of a sub-report.
I have set the text field at 4”. In the columns tab of Page Setup, I’ve set it at 3 columns; Same as Detail box checked, and Column layout is Across, then down.
In the Property Sheet, “Can Grow” and “Can Shrink” are set to No.
When I open the sub-report it does not snake across but list down one column. Appreciate any help.

In the Page Setup window there is a tab named Columns. Near the bottom are Radio Buttons to select between Down, then across and Across, then down.

Yes, NeoPa, in the Columns tab of Page Setup, I've seleted the "Across, then down" and yet it doesn't work.

@Manuel:
This appears to be one of those problems that cannot be easily resolved without the DB in front of you. Is there any chance that you can Upload a subset of the Database stripped of any confidential information? If this is possible, kindly provide detailed info such as: Report Name, Sub-Report Name, etc. to accompany the Attachment.

ADezii,
I have a Word document that contains screen prints of the sub-report and related query, but I don't know how to submit it.

@Manuel:
I'm afraid that a Word Document would not do it. I would need to view or reproduce the problem first hand to see what actually is going on. This is my opinion, maybe someone else can hopefully assist you better than I can.

By a subset of the database, do you mean a database with all the related elements, such as table, query, and report? If I can provide such a database how do I send it to you as an attachment, as the Post Your Repoly box doesn't have an icon for me to send an attachment?

So you have. Sorry for not remembering you'd said that already when I posted.

I can only suggest you post the sizes (Heights & Widths) of your Detail Section and your pages, although if you were expecting 3 columns and only got 1 then I can't imagine why that would present like that.

You may find Attach Database (or other work) of some help with that Manuel.

Yes, but how can I send the attachment now that I can only reply in the Post Your Reply box. There is no mechanism for me to reply with an attachment.

I've got it working! Thanks NeoPa and ADezii for your help. There were several problems. First, I had set the page setup with the sub-report within the main report. I should have made the page setup on the sub-report independent of the main report. Second, I had set the column width too wide. And Third, I forgot to set the Can Grow and Can Shrink property values to NO. Once I did all that it worked. Thanks guys for your help.

It can be somewhat complicated I know. Sometimes it can only be made to work when you spend a lot of time and concentration ensuring all the various contributing factors make sense as a whole. I expect you had to go through that process, so congratulations for getting it all sorted :-)
