How do I make my query stop asking for a field that no longer exists?

My query references a table in which I had to change the name of the primary index. So now, the query includes that new name instead of the old one. But when I run the query, it keeps asking for the old name! I've looked everywhere I can think of (SQL, and, of course, checked and triple-checked all the columns), but can find absolutely no place that the old field name is referenced.

How do I get Access to help me figure out where the old field name is being referenced and get rid of it??

First, I suggest you share the name of the field that you no longer think should be referenced as well as your SQL.

While we're looking at that though, you could experiment with the Documenter (Tools / Analyse / Documenter).

Is your query based on another one ? Maybe the problem is not in the current query. Maybe a sub-query ask you for value.
Good luck !

Thanks,NeoPa, that's really what I needed: more facility with Access itself. Using this tool showed me where there was a flaw in the link properties. Once that was fixed, it worked fine.

Glad to hear it Sue. I stumbled over that very powerful feature some years back. I use it very rarely, but when I need it, it's remarkably powerful.
