Hyperlinking From MS Access

I have a form with a control to lookup a folder and insert the folder name in the text box (called 'location'). I have another field that is a hyperlink field (called picky)and am using a command button to update the 'picky' field that is simply:
picky.value= location.value

The problem is that when clicked it will not open, when I edit the hyperlink field [picky] the name is there (location) but the link path isn't. If I copy the name to the link path it works.

I am getting really desperate finding my limitations here, any assistance whoud be great. In each record there is a different folder location.

Many thanks in advance

Hi Bruce and welcome to BYTES.

Im not really sure I understand your problem, as its written a bit....complicated.

If you want to simply open the path, you can use:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Me.Application.FollowHyperlink strPath, , True
regardless of whether the information is placed in a hyperlink type field. strPath is the full path to your file/folder.
