hiding a record on a report

I am very new to Access and am not completely sure how queries work... If that is what i need.

I have a report derived from a table with a Field labeled "properties" and then Every and the other Fields are composed of "plant species" however not every "record (i believe it's called)" is filled in.

When i create the report for this i want "my property" to show only "plant fields" that have records and the select empty records of the "plant fields" to be hidden.

Base your report on a query and not the table.

Something like

Select the fields you want FROM YourTable
Where "Plant fields??" is not NULL

You will have to adjust with your field and table names.
