Does software converting excel to access with financial functions exist?

Does software converting excel to access with financial functions exist? I need to take several fixed income portfolio run manually from excel and create a database. The excel relies heavily on excel functions such as yield formula and durations formula. Any software that assists in conversion since i am not an access programmer?

Hi and welcome to Bytes

If you import an excel worksheet into Access it will import the calculated fields. So access doesn't "need" to know those functions.

If you need to use those functions from within Access you can add a reference to the Excel Visual Basic library, and you would be good to go.

Other then that you might need to be more clear, since Conversion can mean quite a lot.

Thanks for your response. I got that far by reading tutorials. Unfortunately , my question was poorly written. If I create a template on excel, such as an order ticket, does software exist to convert to access template. In other words, I want to use excel to create my access input pages and also report pages. I know excel data with appropriate fields will be imported into excel.

Thanks.

Hi
Its always hard to "guess" how much knowledge the poster has. Im guessing by template you mean form?

I don't know of any such built in functionality nor have I found anything through google.

Im hard pressed to see why you would want to do it this way however. I believe access is far easier to use when it comes to designing forms and reports. You could probably create an access report(in access) linked to your excel file, and have that report opened through excel. Im unsure if the same is possible for forms.

Again, I just wanna point out, that any excel function you need, can be used from within Access.
