Security in Access

Please provide recommendations for Access security. I have a database that will be used by others, including a subcontractor. I want to include sensitive data that I don't want others to access. I'm considering the following:

1) User groups with passwords, but I've read that others can easily bypass these.

2) A separate database containing the sensetive data, with linked tables to the main database. I've read the linked tables are an open door to the sensitive data.

3) Posting the data on a Share Point site. I have not investigated this option yet.

The database was written in Access 2003, but will be used in 2003 and 2007.

Any suggestions?
