Is there any way to display designed text in access?..

Hello,
The boss wants to be able to write text and design it as he wishes (bold/colors/different fonts/different sizes/etc). I handled that as follows, every time he wants to write text i create a word document, it's saved and can be viewed at anytime. The problem is, i later have to display this text on a report, and the text has to keep its original design. How in the world can i do that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe there is a different approach, without creating word files.. any ideas will be welcomed.

Not as far as I know, but you can save the word document as attachment in access. Then, you will be able to have it (attachment) displayed on a report. Another way is to save it as image (template) and save the image as attachment to the record. This way, you will be able to display the text directly on the report (I don't think it would take much space as it is only text).

Hope this helps,
Regards,
Ali

Hi Ali, thanks for replying. Can you please specify what do you mean by saving the word document as attachment in access?

You are welcome. I see you are new to access. Please find what I meant in the attached database,

Well i wouldn't say i'm completely new. Anyway i can't open your attachment, i'm using access 2003, so if you save it as such and post again i'll appreciate it.

I am very sorry. I said so because I thought you are using Access 2007 and with it you can create attachment field like any other one.

Both ways for with / without using word document as template do exist, of course if you want to start out without the template would be easier for you.

For without word document, you can create your own report, by using the report wizard would be a good start, from there you will first select the source of the report. When its finished, you can then edit the styling of the report heading, body, etc.. For how to create report CLICK HERE, another good reference.

For using word document as template, honestly I didn't use this method before, but I found and tried the files included from this reference and it works, so you can have a look and see do you need any changes in the 2003 version.

Access 2007 has built in support for rich text. That said, I still prefer development in Access 2003, in part because the help files in Access 2007 are horrible!

Hi, thank you all for responding and sorry i'm so late with my reply, i've been handling some other issues and now coming back to this.
For now i'm trying to copy data from that word file i talked about into excel file, this way the report will be built in excel and it's ok, but still the same problem - how do i copy text from word into excel and keep its format/style unchanged? Maybe PasteSpecial does the job, but i don't really know how to use it. If someone knows please advise me on this
