Advanced search button on search form

Using Allen Brownes advanced filter I would like to add the option of an advanced search button. When this is clicked a popup opens with further search options. How would I go about joining the search options selected from the main form and those selected in the popup in to one WHERE string?

I would force the user to click the search button from the popup if they select any search criteria in the popup form so that it doesnt have to be double handled, but once they click search the popup can close and the results can be displayed in my main form.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

You should be able to pass the criteria entered in the first form to the second from through OpenArgs. Then you can read the OpenArgs in the Form_Load event and split the OpenArgs values and assign them as needed in your WHERE clause.

Typically, I like to create invisible, unbound textboxes on the form accepting OpenArgs and assign the values to each individual textbox because it's easier to refer to the textbox name than it is to refer to the split variable index.

If this is confusing, let me know and I can post an example.

@munkee
Happy to help!

It's on hold for now, but thanks for your help. I'll at least have it to refer to when it picks back up.
