How to select from 2 tables in 2 different accdb (Access) files.

P: 2
Hi!

I have 2 accdb files. I need to create a recordset that will include rows comming from 2 tables that are in 2 different accdb file.

Like:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. select a.no, a.name, a.address, b.total
  2. from table1 as a, table2 as b
  3. where a.no = b.no
Both table1 and table2 are stored in 2 different accdb files

Is that possible? I will need 2 connections, and I can't see how I can "select" from 2 connections.

Or can I do this in VB once I have retreive al the rows from each tables?

Thanks

It's not 100% clear what you are asking. Are you telling that you have two different .mdb files, and these two tables reside in both .mdb files? You have an ODBC connection to the other .mdb?

It should be simple to make two queries, one querying the first pair of joined tables, the other querying the other two joined tables, and then join the two queries in a third query.

Really can do it in two queries, by joining the two tables and join that to the 1st query, but it's sort of a minor detail.
