when creating a command button in a form, I can't set the open form by specific data.

Can't set the open form by specific data. The form fields don't appear to choose. Trying to link number to number. One form contains a field called number, but does not appear as a choice to <> to other form number. how to resolve?

First I'd double check to insure that the form actually has the field in question (we've all deleted things then forgot that we deleted them) and to insure that it's named what you think it's named (we've all forgotten that we've changed names, too!)then I'd change the name of the field called Number! This is a Reserved Word in Access and may be confusing the Access Gnomes!

Also check that both fields are actually defined as Numbers as opposed to one being defined as a Number and one as Text that just happens to only contain digits. Not really sure if that would make a difference and don't have Access available at present to check.

The form already has other command buttons that actually work. Just trying to add another button to open the same form with specific data for another customer in the db. The field names have not changed since the original creation of the db.
