MDE Installation Location

I distribute an mde file with an mdb backend. I use Inno to create the installation setup file and all files are installed to a new folder created during installation - C:\ISPF. If users don't have Access, they of course have to get a runtime version from Microsoft.

I've tested things out on both an XP and VISTA machine and haven't had any problems. I don't have any problem reports yet from users who I suppose are also using Windows 7.

I recently read the Bytes discussion Best Installation Location On Vista where it is recommended to install to the Documents and Settings folder rather than the Program Files folder. Nothing is mentioned about installing to a folder on the C drive but I'm beginning to wonder if I made a bad choice.

Am I missing something?? - Is there any reason to prefer installing to the Documents and Settings folder rather than C:\ISPF?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

As far as i can see the only "benefit" there would be following an install to documents and settings folders is that they are unique to the user (except default and all users), if you WANT you program to be user specific then this would be that "benefit", in this case other users would need there own install (except for the occasional admin of course).

Thanks for your reply.

The user specific aspect isn't too important - so Admins or Standard Users are able to open the files in C:\ISPF. Guests are not able open the files, but I don't see this as a problem for now.

My files are a personal finance package and I've always considered that they'll be installed on the user's dedicated computer rather than on a shared computer with various user types. The package allows for password logon which provides security in the case of multiple users.
