Opening Access table in VBA

I have tried acces a MS Access table using the code listed below but i get teh message "User-defiend type not defined"
Dim db As DAO.Database

My guess would be that you don't have Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library loaded in your references.

Go into the code module for a form and goto Tools - References and see if this is checked. If not, check it and exits and see what happens.
