Open database in Edit mode rather than Read Only mode

36
I am working with a database created using Access 2007, but saved as a 2002-2003 version. My problem is....I have three users who need to access the database at the same time. One can open it in edit more, then the other two can only open in Read Only mode. I can open in edit at all times. I assume this is because I am an admin on all Servers and computers we have. Please correct me if I am wrong in that thinking. There is no id and password associated with the database and maybe I need to set one up for each of the three people. Can anyone tell me how to fix this issue? Is there a switch, that I have missed setting, or property that I have missed correcting? Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

You shouldnt have more than one user in this file at one time. To get around this problem, I suggest you split your database into a front end / back end setup. The tables go into a shared back end file, and the front end can be distributed to each user (you can even distribute different versions if you want, they share the same back end tables).

For help with this, check out Front-End / Back-End (FE/BE)
