Create a new item in drop down list in Access07

I am in a class right now where the students are making an information system in Access. Right now we are at a point where we are finalizing our forms. We need to find a way to create a new item in a drop down list using some kind of code. The (new....) selection will let you add an item in that field without leaving the drop down list and also populating the database with the new data.

example: ____________new.....___
_____aceraceae________
_____etc.______________

Thank you

Shawn,

We don't like to supply boilerplate solutions for such questions. To see why visit Site Guidelines on Home- or Coursework Threads. Far from being against students, or even their use of our site, we take seriously the detriment to your learning caused by such answers, so we would far rather help you through a problem than find a simple solution for you.

And please at least take the time to to learn the names of the Controls on a Form! It's either a Combobox (if it drops down) or a List Box, but not a 'drop-down list! There's really no excuse, when learning a new application, such as Access, to not learn the ABCs !
