A MapInfo workspace is just a text file containing commands for MapInfo. You could open it as a text file, but I would think that would be useless. What exactly are you trying to do?

Its ok i've been able to work it all out on my own. I'm new to all of this.

i was wanting to have a button within access which opened up a mapinfo application and its workspace, saving the user and from having to remember where all files, toolbar etc where located as well as time.

i've now successfull complete this

But thanks anyway
