error message for a table

37
Hi - I use Access 2007 and have a an issue I haven't encountered until now. My users enter data into a form that sends the data to two linked tables. One table worked fine and all of the data was there, but the other table had an error message when I tried to open it.-
Error Message-
Cannot open the database 'Commercial table'. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.
The data is still on the form, but I wanted to know how to resolve the problem and have the data go into the table.
Thanks Sally

Have you tried re-linking the offending table link?

I would make a copy of the database first though....just to be safe

The error message is giving you a hint
What is 'Commercial table' ?
Do you recognise it ?
Is it available from where the database is stored ?
Is it really corrupt or does access only think it is ?

I know what the "Commercial table" is. Its one of the two tables that stores most of the data entered from the user. I can create a query from the table with the correct data, but can not make any changes. I get the same error message. I dont know if its really corrupt. Is there a way to check it or fix it?
Thanks Sally

I get that error sometimes after making a change to the table and forgetting to refresh the table link. If this is a front end/back end database setup, then that's most likely the problem.
You can 'check' to see by going to the table and opening it (in the source database).. if it works and you can scroll down through the data, and the data looks fine, then you're probably ok.
