I'm sorry Christoph. You will need to explain this a lot better if anyone is to help you. You will need to give relevant information. Unfortunately your screenshots are too small and lacking in detail to help.

Dear Neopa,

Thanks for gettingback to me, sorry about the screenprints. I did not realize the small limit allowed.

Perhaps I can send you a copy of DB in packed in "rar" about 600KB

My problem is to use the criteria looked up by a combo or list box, in my example the CUSTID to the query which filters the records to be printed for invoices not paid in the statement report.

I alsotried the lookup facility in the properties box of the query grid offfered in the query facilities, and it does give me a list of the fields in the table, but not the customer ID, only shows all fileds of the table in the query grid and if I click on any nothing happens

I looked up on the help in Access but they only talk about combo and list boxes to be used in forms and nowhere explaine how the selected value can be transferred into the selection criteria of a query?

I also looked on the web but the answers there are all referring to VBA code or SQL code and I am a basic user and only know how to use the expression builder facility offered.

I will try and pt the screen dumps into a word doc and then zip it, hopefully it will reach you large enogh to make sense

I also try and attach a sample DB the cust id I use to create the ALL unpaid statement is 12

Thank you very much

Regards

Christoph

PS perhaps I can e-mail you directly, but I am not sure if that would compromise the rules? Please let me know

@Christoph
Swapping email details is perfectly acceptable as long as it's done away from the public forum.

I'm not happy to share that information (certainly at this time) though. I find that problems emailed are generally such that would expect me to devote inordinate amounts of my time (not always, but generally). Furthermore, they encourage posters to get away without explaining their problem properly, in the belief that it isn't necessary (as I already have their project available). So I'm not a big fan of that, though I may decide to ask for it sometimes when communication becomes too difficult.

Anyway, for this particular problem, I suggest you review a tutorial I set up a while back (Example Filtering on a Form) as an introduction to such filtering issues. It comes with an example database (very basic) that you can download and experiment with.

Have a play, then let us know here how you got on and if you need further help.
