Extracting embedded ole objexcts (.Doc's) using Lebans ole 2 disk

P: 6
Hi all,

I have been and still need to export some (1600) word docs from an OLE field.

I have exported about 10% (office 2000) using Stephen Lebans OLE to disk... But
http://www.lebans.com/oletodisk.htm

and the but is... that is does not handle word.document.12 (office 2007) types, the end result is 67 pages of mess when it should be a single page with a small image within it.

Has any body any experiance on how to upgrade the project ?

Many thanks
Paul

I'm afraid I cannot help other than to suggest you refer back to Stephen's web site and see if you can't find something helpful there. If not, I would try the feedback option on his site.

Don't give up on getting an answer here. There may be someone with that specific experience, but Stephen's more likely to be able to help.

Good luck & welcome to Bytes!

Many Thanks NeoPa. for your advice.

I am sure Mr Lebans has hung up his access coat and exchenged them for his pip and slippers :-) but i will give it a go anyway.

I the mean time i will keep plugging away at it, i thnck it boils down to the way it reads the header in 2007 "word.document.12" as any thing lower works ok 2003 "word.document.8"

@Paul Mc
He released a new version on about two months ago (23 July 2009) so I doubt he's given up on the project just yet. Give it a go anyway. I hope you get lucky and he can help you somehow.

Of course if you haven't tried this latest version yet then that's the first step.
