Bound column problem in Pivot Table MS Access 2007

I have a table [tblBookings] with a lookup column [RoomBooked] referring to another table [tblRooms].

tblRooms has two fields, [RoomID] (Autonumber), and [RoomName]. The column I want to display is the RoomName column. If I have Bound Column = 1, and Column Count = 2, Column Widths 0cm;3cm I get the display I want.

However, if I change the Bound Column to 2, this changes the values displayed – I now get column 1 values (RoomID) displaying, regardless of what I set for the Column Count and Column Widths! I thought that Bound Column worked independently from the values displayed.

The main problem is that I want to have a PivotTable view which displays the RoomName values, NOT the RoomID values – whatever properties I set in the field settings on theTable or PivotTable design page, I get RoomID values.

I can of course have a value list for the RoomNames, as it’s a small list and not going to be edited. However, I do want to find out why it is not working!

Also, I have a currency field which refuses to display in the pivot table how it displays in table, query and form view - i.e. displays 33 for £33.00 - whatever I set in the field properties in the pivot table design.
