Reading a value from a Query.....

I am trying to read a value from a query to show it in a form that I want to print....

using this code...



Private Sub Command6_Click()

Dim total As String

DoCmd.OpenQuery "Total Aid", acViewNormal, acEdit

total = [Queries]![Total Aid]![Total Aid1]
[forms]![MyForm]![txtTotal] = total

End Sub

I also triend another View

DoCmd.OpenQuery "Total Aid", acViewNormal, acReadOnly


but i keep getting an error while running..... what do you advise?
